Jumeirah English Speaking School, Arabian Ranches and Jumeirah
‘Parental engagement is a cornerstone of the school’s ethos and practice.’ It is enormously satisfying to read an overarching comment like this in the report.
The partnership between school and home is vital to the success of any school. We are fortunate to have a parent body who are willing to engage in their child’s learning, are incredibly supportive, and, according to this report, comfortable enough to approach the school with any questions, concerns, or ideas. A high level of trust between school and home comes through strongly in the report.
With a key core value of the school being integrity, this is very important to us. Communication has been identified as a strength of the school, but we understand how difficult this is to get right. We are, at present, looking towards streamlining our channels of communication further.
Interestingly, whilst identified as a strength, communication is also mentioned in the Areas for Development, so it appears that we and The Awards Place are very like-minded. Ideas such as family exit surveys are well received.
We see relationships with our parents as a pursuit that is an ongoing quest, as there will always be more we can do. Having parental partnership identified as a ‘defining feature of the school’s identity’ is not only satisfying but motivates us further to continue to improve and develop this key aspect of any successful school.
Thank you to AwardPlace for the thorough review, confirmation, and guidance.
